Burlington Airport (BTV) terminal map

Terminal Layout & Gate Structure

Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV), located 3 miles east of downtown Burlington in South Burlington, Vermont, is the state’s busiest airport, serving over 1.3 million passengers annually. Operated by the City of Burlington, BTV features a single terminal with two concourses—North Concourse and South Concourse—totaling 15 gates. Renamed in 2023 to honor Senator Patrick Leahy, the airport is undergoing a $100 million modernization, including a new terminal connector opened in 2022, linking the concourses post-security for a one-minute walk. With its compact size and Green Mountain charm, BTV offers a seamless travel experience.

BTV’s terminal is a two-level structure centered around a main hall with a green roof and solar array. Level 1 houses arrivals, baggage claim (three carousels), rental car counters (Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National), and ground transportation. Level 2 manages departures, ticketing, two TSA security checkpoints (North and South), and concourse access. The terminal connector links North (Gates 1-8) and South (Gates 9-15) Concourses post-security, eliminating the need to re-clear security for transfers. Airlines include American (Gates 11-13), Delta (Gates 1-3), United (Gates 5-7), JetBlue (Gate 15), and seasonal carriers like Frontier, Sun Country, and Breeze—assignments can shift, so check screens.

American Airlines (and its regional affiliate American Eagle) offers daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Chicago–O’Hare.
