PIT features a distinctive layout consisting of two main structures: the Landside Terminal, which handles arrivals, check-ins, and security, and the Airside Terminal, where all gates and boarding areas are located. These terminals are connected by a fast and efficient underground people mover, ensuring smooth transfers between check-in and your gate. In total, PIT operates 75 gates spread across four concourses: A, B, C, and D.
The Landside Terminal is where every passenger begins their trip. On Level 3, you’ll find the check-in areas for airlines such as American, Delta, United, Southwest, Spirit, and Allegiant, along with plenty of kiosks for self-service. With its spacious halls and black-and-gold design elements, the terminal reflects the spirit of Pittsburgh and its deep-rooted sports culture.
Level 2 is dedicated to security screening, including a TSA PreCheck lane open daily from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Level 1 hosts baggage claim (split between north and south sections) and ground transportation options like rideshares, taxis, and the 28X Airport Flyer bus, which provides direct service to downtown Pittsburgh.

Expected to open by the end of 2025, PIT’s new terminal will be a transformational addition, built between Concourses C and D.
